Some good friends of mine were recently married. Doing what I do, I made them some tags, of course!! I wanted to do something completely new for their tags, so I came up with a layout that was simple and to the point. I really like the variety of the fonts and the alignment of the different elements. Although, it is possible that I am a little biased. :)

Symbol Grouping on Leather Tags
Recently, I was able to make some wedding favor tags that incorporated a variety of symbols. I love the visual interest that the grouping of the symbols in the corner offers. This is also the first time I have stamped a layout like that used on these tags, so it was quite fun to try something new.

Finally. A 'Font Options" Update.
I've been selling my tags on Etsy for over 2 years now. I made my first "font samples" tag 2 years ago - when I was just starting to stamp and I super sucked. The photo of this tag has been included in the listings of my custom leather tags and shows the different font options I offer. After 2 years, I have *finally* updated this photo with a more current photo of my font offerings. The difference is pretty drastic. Well, maybe not drastic, but it is still an upgrade from the old photo.
Circa summer 2009. I had yet to discover how to stamp Font A in a manner that would allow for darker lettering. I also added the numbers in Font D, which probably wasn't a good idea as they didn't stamp that well.
Circa 15 September 2011. Found a solution to make Font A darker (and better in my opinion). Eliminated numbers for Font D. Made better impressions of the symbols. Added options for finishing the back of the tags. I still may need to tweak the wording/alignment of the new font specifications, but as of right now it is definitely an improvement over the old photo. I put off doing this waaaaaaay too (unprofessionally) long.
Still to do:
Update the font options photos for the vertical tags and the smaller "ID" tags. As the horizontal tags (above) are the most popular, I thought it best to start the update with them. Hopefully in the next week or so the other tags will be updated as well.

Vertical Tags, No?
Horizontally oriented custom leather tag.
Currently in my shop, tags stamped horizontally are way more popular than tags stamped vertically. This is probably due to the fact that for the first year or so of selling tags, horizontally was the only way I was asked to stamp the tags, and so my sample photos reflected this. However, the popularity of tags that are stamped vertical in orientation is on the rise! Below are a few recent vertically-stamped tags that perhaps challenge the notion that horizontal is the way to go.

Send Me Nudes
When I first started working in leather almost 2 years ago, I hadn't yet begun to dye my stamped tags. I would stamp them, add a suede lace tie, and then Waaa Laaa! - I considered the tags finished. When I discovered that I could dye the tags....holy crap, I thought that was the coolest thing ever and have been dying my tags ever since.
However. I think if the right shade of leather is used, the tags can look really neat if left undyed. The nude leather contrasts quite nicely with the brown of the suede lace.
If you desire more nudes, I have a necklace in my shop that is naked, undyed leather and can be totally customized.

Right Justified
On rare occasions I am asked to right justify the info I stamp onto the leather tags. Here are a few recent right justified tags. One of them may look familiar [re:April 25]...
